April 24, 2020: Weekly Update

April 24, 2020

Dear Parents,

Together we have made it through another week of sheltering in place, social distancing, mask wearing and remote learning!   And although each day comes with new challenges and often  tests our patience, we are proud that our students are rising to the occasion these difficult circumstances call for.  Families are establishing new routines and finding ways to reconnect with one another while continuing to navigate this unparalleled moment in our nation’s history. We hope that you recognize and appreciate, as we do, that this is due in large part to your efforts and the modeling you are doing for your children.  We thank you and encourage you to stay the course while, at the same time, being gentle with yourselves for an occasional slip up or two or five!

Please see some important updates below.

Monday, April 27, 2020 Board Meeting

On Monday evening we will hold our second virtual meeting of the Robbinsville Board of Education.  Public Session will begin at approximately 7:00 PM. We will forward a link on Monday so members of our school community can register to participate.  During the meeting, Interim School Business Administrator Mark Ritter and I will provide a presentation highlighting the budget for the 2020-2021 school year.  The Board will then move to adopt it.

We will also send Google links for individuals wishing to comment during each public comment period.  This will help us monitor public comment in the event that unexpected audio glitches arise.  As always, we remind you to adhere to the three-minute time limit and request that you keep your comments succinct.

Free & Reduced Lunch Program

We recognize some families may be facing an economic hardship at this time.  If your family is experiencing a temporary loss of income and you would like to apply for free lunches, we encourage you to submit an application.  If you have scanning capacity, please complete sections 1-4 of the application and email it to Fran McKenna at Mckenna@robbinsville.k12.nj.us otherwise mail it to Mrs. McKenna’s attention via the Robbinsville Board of Education.

Schedule for Students in Grades 6-12

Just a reminder that on Monday, April 27th, students in grades 6-12 will follow the new more structured schedule.  Please refer to the correspondence from your building administrators for specific detail.

As we head into the weekend we hope you are able to put your feet up and unwind or curl up with a good book.  If the weather decides to cooperate, perhaps you and the kids can take a break from screen-time and enjoy a bike ride or explore the neighborhood together.  Know that we appreciate you and, in turn, we are grateful for your continued support.
