FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Robbinsville Board of Education and the Robbinsville Educational Association (REA) Ratify Memorandum of Agreement for Successor Contract.

November 3, 2017

After working with an expired contract since July 1, 2017, the Board and REA are pleased to have come to terms on a new three-year deal that spans July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020.  The agreement calls for an annual increase of three percent over the next three years:

2017-2018:     3.0% increase effective July 1, 2017
2018-2019:     3.0% increase effective July 1, 2018
2019-2020:     3.0% increase effective July 1, 2019

Because the Board received an unanticipated State Aid payment in the amount of $631,042 this past July, the agreement also includes an annual adjustment to the salary guide of $175,000.00 for each year of the agreement. In exchange, the REA agreed to maintain employee health benefits contributions at the full amount contained in New Jersey State law (P.L. 2011, Ch. 78).  Additionally, the REA agreed to reduce the payment for the waiver of health benefits by fifty percent (50%) for current employees and eliminate any waiver payment for employees hired after July 1, 2018.

“We are pleased to have come to terms with the Robbinsville Education Association.  The current round of negotiations has resulted in a settlement that shows our staff how much we value their professionalism and the work that they do each day with our children. We anticipate that the adjustment to the salary guide will bring Robbinsville in line with surrounding districts and we continue to be very grateful to our Association members for their strong commitment and dedication to the Robbinsville Schools Community.” said Board of Education Negotiation Chair, Shaina Ciaccio.
